Yuki Tsunoda was born in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan, and began his journey in motorsport at the age of nine. He attended LCA International Elementary School and later transferred to Nihon University Third High School, where he balanced his education with his burgeoning racing career.

Tsunoda's rise in motorsport began with karting, where he showcased his talent early on. He progressed through the ranks of Japanese Formula 4, winning the championship in 2018, and subsequently made his mark in FIA Formula 2, finishing third in 2020 before earning a seat in Formula 1.
