Ravindra Jadeja was born on December 6, 1988, in a Gujarati Hindu Rajput family in Navagam Ghed, Gujarat. His father, Anirudh, worked as a watchman, while his mother, Lata, tragically passed away in an accident when he was just 16. Despite his father's aspirations for him to join the Army, Jadeja pursued cricket, overcoming personal trauma and family challenges to focus on his passion.

Jadeja's rise in cricket began with his impressive performances in domestic cricket, particularly in the Ranji Trophy. He gained national attention during the 2008-09 season, where his all-round performances helped him secure a place in the Indian ODI team. His debut came on February 8, 2009, against Sri Lanka, where he made an immediate impact by scoring an unbeaten 60.
