Daniel Naroditsky was born in San Mateo, California, to Jewish immigrant parents from the Soviet Union. He learned chess at the age of six from his older brother and father, quickly rising through the ranks of youth chess competitions in the United States. His early education included attending Crystal Springs Uplands School and later Stanford University, where he graduated with a degree in history.

Naroditsky became a prominent figure in chess at a young age, earning the title of FIDE Master by winning the Under-12 section of the World Youth Chess Championship in 2007. He became the youngest published chess author at age 14 and achieved the grandmaster title by 2013. His victories in various championships, including the U.S. Junior Championship and the U.S. Blitz Championship, solidified his status as a top player.

Naroditsky was known for his aggressive and tactical playing style, particularly excelling in blitz and bullet formats.
