Having fulfilled his sporting ambitions & due to injuries from his years of high intensity training, El Guerrouj never competed internationally again after the 2004 Olympics.

About Hicham El Guerrouj

Hicham El Guerrouj is a retired Moroccan middle-distance runner, widely regarded as the greatest in history. He holds the world records for the 1500 metres and the mile, and is the only athlete to have won gold medals in both the 1500m and 5000m at the same Olympic Games.
