Thierry Henry to Host 2026 Ballon d'Or Ceremony in London This Month

Thierry Henry will take centre stage at one of football's biggest nights, confirmed as a host for the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony. The event is scheduled for October 26 at the London Palladium, where Henry will share presenting duties with CBS Sports colleague Kate Scott.

Henry's hosting duties for the prestigious awards on October 26 mark a significant step in his broadcasting career. He will guide the ceremony alongside Kate Scott, a fellow CBS Sports presenter. The event will see Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane among the favourites for the top prize. This high-profile gig solidifies Henry's position as a leading voice in global football media.

Beyond the pitch, Henry remains a sought-after commercial figure. He became Samsung's newest football ambassador on October 7, fronting the "Welcome to Foldables" campaign across Europe. The campaign promotes the Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8 smartphones. Henry is the only retired player on Samsung's current ambassador list and the first the brand has moved from promoting TVs to phones. This deal highlights his enduring marketability and appeal to a European audience.

Henry's eye for talent remains sharp. He recently expressed significant admiration for a rising star in the United States men's national team setup. While the specific player's name was not detailed in the available content, Henry's endorsement carries considerable weight. His praise suggests he sees a player with the potential to impact the international game. This kind of recognition from a legend can be a major boost for a young athlete's profile.

Henry has never been shy about praising peers who shared his elite mentality. Back in 2015, he wrote glowingly about Wayne Rooney's extraordinary consistency over more than a decade. "You will only truly appreciate Rooney when he has retired," Henry stated, urging younger English players like Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane to learn from him. He described maintaining that level for so long as an exceptional feat, speaking from his own experience at the pinnacle of the sport.
