Juan Soto Earns Fifth All-Star Nod in Record-Breaking Mets Season

Juan Soto has been selected as an All-Star for the fifth time in his career in 2026, the latest accolade in a dominant second season with the New York Mets. The superstar outfielder, who signed a landmark 15-year, $765 million deal before the 2025 campaign, continues to validate the massive investment with elite production at the plate and on the bases.

Soto's first year in Queens in 2025 was nothing short of spectacular. He smashed a career-high 43 home runs and also swiped a career-best 38 bases. His legendary plate discipline remained a cornerstone of his game, as he led the Major Leagues in walks for the fourth time in his career. This blend of power, patience, and athleticism has made him the centerpiece of the Mets' lineup.

Now 28, Soto's resume is already packed with hardware. He is a six-time Silver Slugger winner and captured the National League batting title in 2020. Soto has twice led the Majors in on-base percentage, doing so in 2020 and 2021. His career took off almost immediately after his May 20, 2018 debut, and he famously won a World Series with the Washington Nationals in 2019. A later trade to the Yankees in 2024 helped New York secure its first American League pennant in 15 years.

Born on October 25, 1998, Soto finds himself in elite company among players sharing his birthday. A recent ranking listed him as the second-best player born on that date, trailing only Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez. The list highlights the incredible talent concentrated on that day, with Soto positioned as the active player most likely to one day join Martinez in Cooperstown. His early career comparisons to Ted Williams now seem less hyperbolic as he builds his own historic legacy.

• Fifth All-Star Selection: Soto earned his fifth career All-Star nod in the 2026 season.
• Historic Contract: He is playing under a record 15-year, $765 million contract signed with the Mets before 2025.
• Career Year in 2025: In his first Mets season, he set personal bests with 43 homers and 38 stolen bases.

Soto's consistent excellence makes him a daily must-watch for Mets fans and a defining star of this baseball era.
