Gerard Piqué trolls Real Madrid with viral TikTok video

Gerard Piqué has fired a fresh shot at Real Madrid, posting a viral TikTok video that mocks José Mourinho's return to La Liga and draws direct parallels to the 2010 season. The clip, which has amassed over 1.8 million views, highlights Spain's World Cup win, Mourinho's headline-grabbing press conferences, and Barcelona's form, striking a nerve with Madrid supporters.

Piqué's viral trolling strikes a nerve

Piqué's video, posted in late September 2026, cleverly connected current events to the 2010 campaign. He pointed out that Spain had again become world champion, that Mourinho was back in La Liga 'putting on a show', and that Barcelona was once more 'playing like gods'. The former defender specifically targeted Mourinho's press conference after a match against Atlético Madrid, where the Portuguese coach arrived with printed photos of contentious refereeing decisions. This digital jab immediately flooded Piqué's social media comments with angry responses from Madrid fans, many of whom brought up his past relationship with Shakira.

The enduring Shakira shadow

Years after their 2022 breakup, the fallout from Piqué's split with Shakira continues to follow him online. In her music, Shakira has consistently hinted at infidelity during their 12-year relationship, stating she discovered the alleged cheating during a difficult period when her father was hospitalized. Piqué has never publicly addressed the specific accusations in her songs. He has instead focused on their children, stating that their well-being is his absolute priority. This personal history is frequently weaponized by rival fans during online spats, as seen in the reaction to his latest TikTok.

Piqué's unwavering Barcelona loyalty

Even four years after leaving Barcelona, Piqué remains one of the club's most vocal and provocative supporters. His latest antics show a loyalty he once summarized by saying, 'I might be unfaithful to my wife, but never to Barcelona.' His actions are a calculated part of the club's eternal rivalry with Real Madrid, leveraging social media to engage directly with the fanbase and antagonize the opposition. This role seems to be a permanent one for the retired defender, who finds new ways to insert himself into the narrative of El Clásico.
