Gabriel Bortoleto seeks long-term Audi legacy amid F1

Gabriel Bortoleto has expressed a clear desire to build a long-term legacy with Audi, revealing that spending his career with a single team remains his ultimate goal in Formula 1.

The Brazilian rookie, who claimed back-to-back titles in Formula 3 and Formula 2 before securing his F1 drive, holds high ambitions for Audi’s factory arrival.

Rather than squad-hopping across the grid, Bortoleto wants to anchor the German manufacturer’s long-term project from the ground up.

Reflecting on the prospect of remaining with Audi for a 15-year tenure, Bortoleto stressed his commitment to establishing stability early in his career.

“That would be the dream,” Bortoleto told media including Motorsport Week.

“If we stay 15 years together, it means the partnership between me and Audi has worked in an incredible way.

“I always have been the type of guy, since go-karting, that my dream was always to stay with one team, if possible. Hopefully, I can do this with Audi.”

While historic champions often switched teams throughout their careers, modern champions like Max Verstappen have demonstrated the value of long-term loyalty to build dominant eras.

Addressing whether modern driver mindsets have evolved, Bortoleto highlighted how drivers find motivation differently.

“Did the world change? I don’t know. I think it’s opinions,” Bortoleto explained.

“I think it’s also what moves you and challenges you. Lewis, for example, has done many years with Mercedes. Maybe he needed a new challenge, I don’t know. Obviously, you need to ask him. Each of us has a way to motivate us.”

Despite his stellar junior record, the young Brazilian remains grounded about his current standing on the grid as he looks toward building his career with Audi.
