Didier Drogba Reflects on Career Struggles Amid EA FC 24

Didier Drogba recently reviewed an EA FC 24 player card with brutal honesty, offering insights into how he views his legacy in modern football gaming.

In a recent video interaction, Drogba was asked to rate a fan-made EA FC 24 card representing his peak years. He gave a candid assessment, noting strengths in physicality and shooting but pointing out shortcomings in pace and dribbling attributes compared to his real-life impact. He laughed at the exaggeration of some ratings, saying the game captures his presence but not always the intelligence behind his movements.

Drogba has spoken openly about early struggles, including a difficult spell at Le Mans where he doubted his future in football. He admitted that limited playing time and criticism nearly made him quit the sport before a move to Guingamp revived his career. That turnaround led to a Marseille transfer and eventually a legendary Chelsea stint, where he became a defining force in Premier League history.

Former Arsenal players have recalled how daunting it was to face Drogba during his Chelsea years. One ex-Gunner stated he was 'scared to death' of playing against the Ivorian striker, adding that facing current Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres would not worry him in comparison. The comments highlight the psychological edge Drogba brought to matches, beyond just his goal tally.
