Viswanathan Anand will join PBG Alaskan Knights for the fourth edition of the Global Chess League. The five-time World champion switched franchises for the first time in the league.

Viswanathan Anand left his long-time home at Ganges Grandmasters. He will partner India's highest-rated player Arjun Erigaisi at PBG Alaskan Knights.
