Triple H in advanced talks with UFC’s Colby Covington over WWE switch

Triple H, WWE’s chief content officer, is in talks with former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington about a possible move to WWE. Covington, who holds a 3-0 record in Real American Freestyle (RAF), revealed the discussions during an interview with Brian Mazique ahead of his July 18 fight against Arman Tsarukyan.

What did Covington say about Triple H’s offer?

Covington confirmed he’s had calls with Triple H and WWE about a potential transition. But he stressed his focus remains on RAF, where he’s invested heavily. “I’ve had some calls with Triple H and the WWE, so that’s a potential possibility in the future as well,” Covington said. “But I’m all in on RAF; I invested my hard-earned money that I earned fighting into RAF to get a little small equity percentage, and I care about the future.”

Why a Triple H-WWE move matters now

MMA fighters joining WWE isn’t new. Ken Shamrock became an Attitude Era staple, while Ronda Rousey shocked fans with her 2018 WWE debut. Covington’s potential switch would add another crossover star to WWE’s roster. Triple H’s role in content strategy makes him the point man for such negotiations.

What’s next for Covington?

Covington fights Tsarukyan on July 18 in RAF. He’s considering ending his competitive run there but hasn’t ruled out returning to the UFC for bigger bouts. “Whether I entertain other fight offers and go back to the UFC and get some big fights, those are still possibilities,” he said. “You never know what the future holds and what tomorrow holds.”
