Torri Huske Wins First Individual NCAA Victory

Torri Huske won her first individual NCAA victory, finishing first in the 200 individual-medley race in 1:49.87. She swam for Stanford University, helping the squad finish second to the University of Virginia in the team standings.

Torri Huske placed second in two other races, the 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle, at the NCAAs. She swam on the runner-up 200 medley relay and third-place 200 free relay.

Huske was Stanford's top point-scorer in the championships, contributing to the team's second-place finish. The NCAA gold adds to Huske's list of winning individual golds in the Summer Olympics, World Championships, and other college meets.

What comes next?

Huske, a product-design major, will look to build on her success in future competitions. She has already won five medals, including three golds and two silvers, in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. Huske earned an Olympic silver medal for finishing second in the 100 free. Her other medals came when she was a member of first- and second-place relays. At the 2022 Fina World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Huske won three gold medals. Previously, she won gold medals at the Junior World Championships. The recently-concluded 2025 General Assembly session included a legislative salute to Huske for her performance during the Summer Olympics. Huske helped the girls team win multiple postseason championships, including a state title, at Yorktown High School. She never lost an individual high-school race in her four seasons and smashed many team and meet records.
