Stephen Curry is at the center of the Golden State Warriors' plans to reunite with Kevin Durant, a $134 million MVP and two-time NBA champion.

The Warriors are building their roster around the 38-year-old star Stephen Curry, despite his advanced age. They are looking to make offseason moves to increase their chances of winning the Larry O’Brien trophy again.

A reunion with Durant would elevate the Warriors' odds of instilling fear into the rest of the Western Conference. Durant averaged 26.0 points per game with the Rockets this season, shooting 52.0% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc in 78 contests.

The Warriors could use Jimmy Butler and a few of their most valuable role players to convince the Rockets to trade Durant. Durant's consistent scoring production suggests he’s just as prolific a bucket-getter as he was in his late 20s and early 30s with the Warriors. The Rockets may not entertain the idea of trading Durant, considering he was acquired via an historic seven-team offseason trade. Butler and other valuable role players could be used as trade bait to convince the Rockets to prematurely end the Durant era in Houston. Durant's health hasn’t been overly concerning lately, despite a bone bruise that made him a non-factor in the postseason. The Warriors' aspirations to win the Larry O’Brien trophy again may depend on their ability to make the right offseason moves. Sean Deveney, from Heavy, floated the idea of a Warriors reunion with Durant, citing his scoring ability and championship experience. Durant won the MVP award in 2014 and two championships with the Warriors during his previous stint with the team. The potential reunion would be a significant boost to the Warriors' chances of winning the championship.
