Stefanos Tsitsipas storms Swiss Open final with Collignon showdown set

Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Raphael Collignon in the Swiss Open Gstaad final on Sunday after a three-set semifinal win over Alexander Shevchenko.

What happened in Gstaad?

Tsitsipas, the former world No 3, dropped the second set but closed out Shevchenko 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 on outdoor clay in Gstaad. The Greek extended his best run of 2026 with a display of controlled aggression, hitting 28 winners against 12 unforced errors. Collignon, ranked 187, upset Juan Manuel Cerundolo 1-6, 7-6(5), 7-5 in the other semifinal, saving a match point on his own serve at 5-6, 40-40 in the decider.

Why it matters for Tsitsipas

This marks Tsitsipas’s first final since Doha in February 2025 and his first ATP 250 final since Marseille in 2023. The 27-year-old has already pocketed the 2019 ATP Finals title and reached two Grand Slam finals, but clay has long been his strongest surface. A win would give him his first Swiss Open crown and his first title since Rotterdam in February 2025. Collignon, meanwhile, is bidding to become the lowest-ranked finalist in Gstaad history.

How to watch the final

UK viewers can tune into Sky Sports Tennis; US fans will need Tennis Channel. Both platforms offer live coverage from Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad, with first ball expected around 14:00 local time. Online streams are available via Sky Go in the UK and Tennis Channel’s digital service in the US. Ticket links are live on the tournament’s official site.

What Collignon brings to the table

Collignon’s left-handed serve and heavy topspin baseline game will test Tsitsipas’s backhand wing. The Belgian hit 11 aces and saved 14 of 18 break points against Cerundolo, showing the composure Tsitsipas must respect. Tsitsipas, though, has dropped just one set this week and owns a 10-2 career record against lefties. If he repeats his semifinal serving pattern-68% first-serve points won-Collignon will need every break point he can find.
