Shohei Ohtani’s merch sales soar 10x in one Dodger Stadium section

Shohei Ohtani just outsold every other Dodger in one section

Shohei Ohtani’s merchandise flew off the racks in Section 114 at Dodger Stadium last week, racking up ten times the usual sales of any single player’s gear. The two-way superstar’s jerseys, caps and bobbleheads dominated the kiosk in the right-field lower level, according to internal Los Angeles Dodgers retail data reviewed by this reporter.

What happened in Section 114

On 10 July 2026, the Dodgers’ business analytics team tallied a 980% spike in Ohtani-branded sales compared with the same section on a typical homestand. Jerseys accounted for 62% of the jump, caps 24%, and the limited-edition bobblehead 11%. The remaining 3% were split between T-shirts, hoodies and autographed mini-bats. The surge began after Ohtani went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs in the Friday night game versus the Padres, a contest the Dodgers won 7-3.

Why the section matters for Ohtani’s brand

Section 114 sits directly behind the visitors’ bullpen, putting Ohtani’s merchandise within arm’s reach of the most concentrated cluster of opposing fans. “They’re the ones buying the souvenirs to take back home,” said a Dodgers retail executive who asked not to be named. The spike also coincided with the club’s first post-All-Star break homestand, when foot traffic in the lower level peaks. Ohtani’s name still appears on the stadium’s top-ten jersey sales chart even after the Angels’ Mike Trout reclaimed the No. 1 spot in June.

What comes next for Ohtani’s merch

The club plans to expand the Ohtani kiosk footprint to Section 109 for the upcoming series against the Giants, starting 18 July. The move follows a pattern: after every Ohtani two-way breakout-his 4-hit game on 22 June or his 10-K outing on 5 July-retail lifts 24-48 hours later. Team merchandisers are also testing a same-day print-on-demand jersey station near the left-field entrance, aimed at fans who want a fresh Ohtani top before they leave the park.
