Richard Petty Teams Up with Food City for Donation Drive

Richard Petty, the seven-time NASCAR champion, is teaming up with Food City and Paralyzed Veterans of America for an in-store donation drive. The campaign starts on July 1, 2026, and runs until July 28, 2026.

The donation drive encourages Food City shoppers to donate $1, $3, or $5 at checkout. Since 2011, Food City has raised over $4.5 million for Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Richard Petty has been supporting Paralyzed Veterans of America for over a decade. This year, he is joined by his son Kyle Petty.

Richard Petty said, "For more than a decade, I've had the privilege of giving back to the men and women who have served this country."

Customers can donate at all Food City locations or online. The donations will support Paralyzed Veterans of America's mission to provide benefits, healthcare, and careers to disabled veterans.

The campaign has had a significant impact on the lives of veterans with spinal cord injuries and diseases. Robert Thomas, the U.S. Army Veteran and PVA National President, said, "The generosity of Food City's customers and staff directly changes the lives of veterans."

Kyle Petty added, "I was blessed during my NASCAR career to drive the PVA race car, and that experience showed me firsthand the difference this organization makes in veterans' lives."

Food City president and chief executive officer, Steven C. Smith, thanked the company's associates and customers for their support. He said, "Together, we have been able to provide vital support to PVA and make our communities stronger."

The donation drive starts on July 1, 2026. Customers can select $1, $3, or $5 donations or round up their order total to the next dollar amount.
