Pedro Acosta will join Marc Márquez at Ducati Lenovo in 2027 and 2028.

What happened?

Ducati Lenovo confirmed the team changes, with Acosta replacing Pecco Bagnaia.

Acosta won the Rookie of the Year award in 2024 and finished fourth in the 2025 MotoGP Championship.

He is currently sixth in the overall standings, five points ahead of Bagnaia.

Why it matters for Pedro Acosta

This move is significant for Acosta, as he will be teammates with Marc Márquez.

Márquez signed a new contract with Ducati Lenovo until 2028.

Acosta's experience in Moto3 and Moto2 will be valuable to the team.

What comes next?

Bagnaia will depart Ducati Lenovo at the end of 2026, after eight seasons with the team.

He won two World Championships in a row in 2022 and 2023, but has struggled since then.

Rumors suggest Bagnaia will move to Aprilia.

Pedro Acosta's addition to the team will create an all-Spanish team in 2027 and 2028.
