French midfielder Paul Pogba is nearing his return to professional football after over two years away.

What happened to Paul Pogba?

Pogba was handed a four-year suspension in February 2024 after testing positive for DHEA. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the ban to 18 months following a successful appeal.

Why it matters for Paul Pogba

At 32, Pogba is seeking a fresh start in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco, having joined as a free agent last June. AS Monaco coach Sebastien Pocognoli expressed excitement about Pogba's possible return.
