Ed Easton Jr. of Chiefs Wire reported Kansas City is optimistic about Mahomes' readiness. Earlier this offseason, Broncos coach Sean Payton told Trey Wingo that Denver, the NFL and ESPN expect Mahomes to play in Week 1.
