Oscar Piastri Investigated After British Grand Prix Incident

Oscar Piastri is under investigation by the FIA following an incident with Arvid Lindblad during British Grand Prix qualifying on Saturday, June 17.

What happened?

The incident occurred as the cars left the pit lane ahead of the final runs of Q3, with Lindblad and teammate Liam Lawson being released into the pit lane almost simultaneously as Piastri's McLaren approached.

Piastri slowed and turned slightly to the left to avoid a collision with Lindblad's car.

Why it matters for Oscar Piastri

The FIA stewards have launched an investigation into the incident, with the drivers required to visit the stewards at 1800 local time at Silverstone.

This incident may impact Piastri's performance in the British Grand Prix.

What comes next?

Lindblad is aiming for a fourth consecutive points finish at Silverstone, having finished one place behind Lawson at each of the last three rounds stretching back to Monaco on June 7.

He praised his team, saying they had done a really good job again.

The team's upgrade in Montreal had been extremely promising, working on all different types of circuits.

Oscar Piastri and Arvid Lindblad were classified eighth and ninth respectively in Saturday's qualifying session at Silverstone.

The investigation's outcome will be announced after the drivers meet with the stewards.

Arvid Lindblad told PlanetF1.com that he was happy with his team's performance, and they had worked well together to get the car in a better window for Q3.

Lindblad's teammate Liam Lawson was also involved in the incident, as he was released into the pit lane at the same time as Lindblad.

The FIA's decision will be crucial in determining the outcome of the incident.

Oscar Piastri will be looking to put this incident behind him and focus on the British Grand Prix.

The British Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, June 18, at Silverstone.
