Noah Lyles Wins Bronze in 200M at Olympics

Noah Lyles won the bronze medal in the 200M Olympics finals on Thursday, finishing third behind Letsile Tebogo of Botswana. Lyles was diagnosed with COVID-19 two days before the competition.

Impact on the 4x100 relay

The 16-year-old U.S. sprinter Quincy Wilson is in line to run in the Olympic 4x400 relay on Friday.

Wilson posted on his Instagram page a picture of himself with the reminder to “tune in at 5:05 a.m. Friday morning” for the men’s relay.

At the Olympic trials earlier this summer, Wilson broke the under-18 world record twice with times of 44.66 and 44.59.

The youngest U.S. male in Olympic track was Arthur Newton, who ran the steeplechase in 1904 at age 17.

Sha’Carri Richardson will lead the U.S. women’s relay team in Friday’s 4x100-meter final.

Richardson saved the American women with a her anchor leg in the opening heat after a bad exchange between 200-meter gold medalist Gabby Thomas and Twanisha Terry.
