Nelly Korda Nears LPGA Hall of Fame: Time for Induction Party Revival

Nelly Korda is on the brink of LPGA Hall of Fame induction, reigniting calls to bring back the traditional induction party. The 25-year-old American has dominated women's golf in 2024, securing five wins and reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking.

What's the Hall of Fame status?

Korda needs just one more win to reach the 15-tournament threshold for Hall of Fame eligibility. Her 2024 season includes victories at the Cognizant Founders Cup, Honda LPGA Thailand, and the Chevron Championship. The LPGA last held an induction ceremony in 2019, honoring Annika Sörenstam.

Why the ceremony debate?

The LPGA discontinued its induction parties in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions. With Korda's imminent eligibility, fans and analysts argue the tradition should return. 'The Hall of Fame deserves proper celebration,' said former champion Paula Creamer. 'Nelly's achievements warrant the full recognition.'

What's next for Korda?

Korda's next opportunity comes at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June. A win there would secure her Hall of Fame status and likely prompt the LPGA to reinstate the induction ceremony. Her sister Jessica Korda, also a professional golfer, praised Nelly's consistency: 'She's redefined what it means to dominate.'
