Mookie Betts Partners with Gelson's Markets for Tequila Providencia

Mookie Betts announced a new partnership between his tequila company, Tequila Providencia, and Gelson's Markets on Monday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop made the announcement ahead of the team's series opener against the Minnesota Twins. Mookie Betts co-founded Tequila Providencia with chief executive Rodd Rafieha and spent much of the offseason promoting the additive-free tequila.

The partnership with Gelson's Markets puts Tequila Providencia on shelves throughout Southern California, shifting the brand from personal appearance trips to a spot at an upscale market. As of June 22, 2026, Mookie Betts is batting .218 with a .280 on-base percentage, eight home runs and 19 RBIs across 43 games in an injury-interrupted season.

What comes next?

Tequila Providencia launched its premium line in January and has already reached store shelves at Costco, Total Wine and BevMo. The single-distillery tequila is made from highland blue Weber agave in Jalisco, Mexico, and is available at Gelson's Markets. Mookie Betts remains an eight-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner and a 2018 MVP, with four World Series championships under his belt. The 33-year-old Dodgers shortstop is in his seventh season with the team, and the partnership with Gelson's Markets is his latest off-field venture.
