Kevin Harvick Questions Tyler Reddick's NASCAR Dominance

2026-06-29 · Kevin Harvick · Opinion

Kevin Harvick, the 2014 Cup Series champion, has expressed doubts about Tyler Reddick's dominance in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.

On his Happy Hour podcast, Harvick argued that Reddick's success is built on execution, strategy, and taking advantage of key opportunities.

What happened?

Reddick has opened the season with three straight wins and currently leads the championship standings by 97 points after 15 races.

Harvick pointed to races where Reddick led significant laps but was unable to close out victories, such as his Kansas Speedway victory, which came in overtime after a late caution created a restart.

Why it matters for Kevin Harvick

Harvick's comments come as 23XI Racing continues to strengthen its future by adding rising talent Corey Heim to its growing NASCAR lineup.

Heim, the reigning Truck Series champion, has competed part-time for the organization during the past three seasons and earned a career-best sixth-place finish at Bristol.

What comes next?

The addition of Heim gives 23XI Racing a three-car lineup featuring Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and Heim, as the team pushes toward a NASCAR championship.

Harvick believes the team's biggest advantage may not be superior speed, but rather strong leadership and smart personnel decisions.

Denny Hamlin, a key figure in building the team, praised Heim as a gifted driver with a bright future in the sport.

Harvick credited Michael Jordan's financial support and winning mentality as key parts of the organization's growth, highlighting the importance of having the right people in place.

As the season progresses, Harvick's comments will likely be closely watched, and his assessment of Reddick's dominance will be put to the test on the track.
