Désiré Doué linked with Man Utd as PSG pair enter transfer mix: report
Désiré Doué has been named alongside Bradley Barcola as a potential Manchester United signing this summer. The advice comes from Dwight Yorke, the 1999 Treble winner, who urged United to act if Marcus Rashford departs.
What’s the transfer talk about?
United are plotting a squad overhaul under Michael Carrick after securing Champions League football. Carrick’s side finished third in 2025-26 and now eyes reinforcements across the pitch. Yorke, speaking to GOAL via BOYLE Sports, pointed to Barcola and Doué as ideal attacking upgrades. “If Marcus Rashford doesn’t want to stick around, go and get Doué or Barcola,” Yorke said. “Those are the two players you should go get.”
Why Doué fits United’s plan
Doué, 21, has been a regular for France during World Cup duty and brings pace and direct running. His contract at PSG runs until 2029, which could inflate his price tag. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano noted Barcola’s exit door may now be ajar, while Doué’s long deal keeps him less likely to leave. Still, United’s interest adds pressure on PSG to weigh their options.
PSG’s shifting stance on Barcola
Romano, on his YouTube channel, said Barcola’s status changed in ten days. “Ten days ago, everybody was saying Barcola was untouchable,” Romano said. “Now I see links with everywhere, so maybe Barcola isn’t that untouchable after all.” Barcola has not signed a new PSG deal and faces strong interest from multiple clubs.
What comes next for United?
Carrick has already added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to midfield. A winger remains a priority, and both Barcola and Doué fit that profile. United’s new 100,000-seater stadium plans are tied to “Project 150,” aiming for title celebrations by 2028. Whether Doué joins depends on United’s willingness to meet PSG’s valuation.
