Brad Binder Takes BMW M2 CS for a Spin

Brad Binder took the BMW M2 CS for a spin at the TT Circuit Assen. On 27 June, he and Alex Rins tested the car's agility and power.

What happened?

The two MotoGP riders participated in a reverse slalom competition, navigating the course in reverse gear as quickly as possible.

The BMW M2 CS delivers 390 kW of power and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Its lightweight construction and forged M light-alloy wheels make it the lightest BMW M2 of the current generation.

Why it matters for Brad Binder

The BMW M Award is given to the top qualifier in MotoGP each season, and the winner will receive the BMW M2 CS at the season finale in Valencia, Spain, in mid-November.

The car's exceptional driving dynamics and sporty design features make it a desirable prize. Brad Binder and Alex Rins had the opportunity to experience its handling and skill requirements firsthand.

What comes next?

The 2025 BMW M Award winner will be announced at the season finale, and the winner will take home the BMW M2 CS. Previous winners include Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.

The BMW M2 CS is a significant improvement over the base model, with a reduced weight of around 30kg. Its inline six-cylinder engine and M TwinPower Turbo technology provide an impressive driving experience.

The prize

The BMW M2 CS in Velvet Blue Metallic will be handed over to the winner, who will be determined by their qualifying performance throughout the season. Brad Binder and other top riders will be competing for this prestigious award.

The partnership between BMW M GmbH and MotoGP has been in place since 1999, with BMW serving as the 'Official Car of MotoGP'. The BMW M Award is a testament to this partnership, recognizing the fastest qualifier in the MotoGP season.

For more information on the BMW M Award and the BMW M2 CS, visit the official BMW M website. The site provides details on the car's features, specifications, and the award's history.

The 2025 MotoGP season is ongoing, with several rounds remaining before the season finale in Valencia. Brad Binder and other top riders will continue to compete for the top qualifying spot and the chance to win the BMW M2 CS.
