Andre De Grasse Eyes 2028 Olympics

Andre De Grasse is chasing another podium finish at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. He aims to break the tie he shares with swimmer Penny Oleksiak as Canada’s most decorated Olympian.

What drives Andre De Grasse?

Andre De Grasse likes to take it easy on his days off, enjoying what he calls “premium chill and recharge time.” He is motivated by the desire to see Canadian athletes represent themselves and the country to the best of their ability.

Training for the Olympics

Training at 31 is definitely different than training at 21, says Andre De Grasse. When you’re younger, everything feels new, and the excitement comes naturally. Now, there are days when he wakes up feeling a little more sore and achy than he used to.

Recovery and coaching

Andre De Grasse uses AI-powered systems, timing technologies, and sensors built into spikes to aid his recovery. He also does red light therapy and uses an infrared sauna and electromagnetic recovery devices. Bad communication is the biggest red flag when picking a coach, according to Andre De Grasse. A coach-athlete relationship needs to be built on trust and honesty.

Supporting the next generation

Andre De Grasse was recently named one of 11 ambassadors for Canada Soccer’s Iconic XI World Cup initiative. He hit pause on his routine to champion the next generation of sporting talent. Andre De Grasse is inspired by Christine Sinclair, a three-time Olympic soccer medalist and advocate for women’s sports. He wants his daughter to grow up with strong role models and opportunities if she decides sports are part of her future.
