Andre Agassi crowns Novak Djokovic the GOAT in upcoming Prime film

Andre Agassi has labeled Novak Djokovic the best tennis player of all time in a new Prime documentary set to premiere on August 20.

The eight-time Grand Slam champion and part-time TNT analyst coached Djokovic briefly from May 2017 to March 2018. In NOVAK DJOKOVIC: The Wolf in Winter, Agassi declares Djokovic’s resume untouchable.

“Nobody can touch what he’s accomplished,” Agassi says in the film. “He’s the best of all-time.”

What the documentary reveals

Directed by Jason Hehir, the feature-length film dives into Djokovic’s life and career. It features interviews with Agassi, Rafael Nadal, Pete Sampras, and tennis journalists Mary Carillo, Howard Bryant, Christopher Clarey, and Matt Futterman.

Jelena Djokovic also appears, calling her husband both elegant and “the chosen one.” Djokovic himself reflects on self-doubt despite his 24 major titles.

“There are days when I feel like I’m the best,” he says. “There are days where I’m doubting myself a lot. How long should I do this?”

Why Agassi’s praise matters now

Djokovic, now 39, hasn’t won a major since the 2023 U.S. Open. He reached the Wimbledon semifinals this year before losing to Jannik Sinner.

The Serb remains a semifinalist or finalist at most Slams, often stopped by Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz. He’s scheduled to appear at Fanatics Fest in New York City this week ahead of the U.S. Open.

The documentary arrives as Djokovic eyes another deep run at the U.S. Open. His last major crown came nearly a year ago in New York.
