Alphonso Davies Returns to Training After ACL Injury

Alphonso Davies is making progress in his rehabilitation from an ACL injury. The 24-year-old tore his ACL in Canada's clash with the U.S. men's national team at the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals in March.

What happened?

Davies has been undergoing an intensive rehabilitation process at Bayern's Säbener Straße headquarters since the injury. He has now started running and training, a significant step forward in his recovery.

The young defender is working hard to regain his strength and fitness. He told fcbayern.com, “I’m running and training well, I just need to get a bit more muscle mass on my right leg.”

Why it matters for Alphonso Davies

Davies has a history of injury problems, missing 48 games for club and country over the past three years. This latest setback has been tough for him, but he's determined to come back stronger.

The process is more difficult mentally than physically, Davies revealed. He said, “The muscles will come back by themselves, but not knowing how long you’re out for or whether you can do certain things-that’s hard.”

What comes next?

Davies will hope to put his injury problems behind him as his career starts to ramp up. He's focused on his rehabilitation and is working hard to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

Davies added, “Injuries like this are part of sport. The only thing I can do now is battle back, not as quickly but as steadily as possible, so that hopefully nothing happens again.” He's determined to come back stronger and more resilient than ever.

The Bayern No. 19 is taking things one step at a time, focusing on his mental strength and physical rehabilitation. He's aware that the road to recovery will be long, but he's ready for the challenge.

Davies' fans will be eagerly awaiting his return to the pitch, and the young defender is working hard to make that happen as soon as possible. With his determination and hard work, he's sure to come back stronger than ever.
